With almost 10 years of experience and +100 weddings behind me I will add to the experience by helping you and taking responsibility so that you can do what you are supposed to do: having fun and getting married!

Annie Stumle is my name and I am 30 years old. I studied film & photography in California, US before me and my partner Adam moved to Gotland, Sweden. Here we are still, living in a cottage with our two small daughters and a lot of pets! We have the business together and Adam is mostly tagging along to my weddings, as my second shooter or videographer.

It was hot and the air was stuffy in the small cabin. We could hear the murmur and foot steps from arriving guests on the deck above. The bridesmaid carefully pulled up the zipper to the fantastic vintage dress the bride had bought just a few months ahead of the wedding. The bride herself was shaking nervously. She hadn't tried on the dress since she bought it and the ceremony was less than forty minutes away. Right before the zipper was fully closed, her friend gasped: “Oh, no!“

”What happened?” the bride asked anxiously and tried looking over her shoulder.
”The seam broke right next to the zipper!” her friend replied and took a step aside so I, the photographer, could see. We could hear the bride breathing faster and faster. The nervosity was turning into outright panic and the tears weren’t far away.
”It’s OK,” I said and put away my camera for a second. “What do you need? I have a needle and thread in my bag. Or safety pins? We’ll fix this.“

Forty minutes later I snapped these images:

If I hadn’t told you about the near disaster, you would not have guessed how close we came to catastrophe right before the ceremony. It was my first wedding on my own after assisting and second shooting for about a year. Without the experience I had gained from my mentors, I would not have had the right tools in my camera bag nor the capacity to calm down a nearly hysterical bride. As a wedding photographer, I am not “a stranger with a fancy camera“ but a resource. My knowledge and experience is at your service, and it is the closest you can come to insurance for a perfect wedding day. Don’t hesitate to ask me anything!

In order to make magical images it’s not only the shutter that needs to “click“, but also you with me. Getting along is important so that you can relax and be yourself in front of the camera. So who am I? My style is timeless but romantic, candid with a flavor of artistic influences in angles, framing, and lighting. You have a story and I’ll retell it with images. The result will be images that make you smile and not want to hide away in some old drawer. I am about thirty, easygoing, and outgoing dressed with a smile almost all the time.

By my side, I have my wonderful spouse, Adam, videographer & photographer as well. Depending on your wishes, he’ll be assisting, shooting for me or filming your wedding. Since 2019 we even offer videography as a separate service. Life is simply better when you do what you love with those you love!

Don’t regret a thing!

Your wedding day is not only a big party. It’s a milestone in life. A break in a hectic everyday life. A memory for life, when everyone you love and cherish get together and meet for the first or last time. So how do you want to remember it?

What is truly important to you? As an experienced wedding photographer, I have seen and heard so many horror stories from married couples about what they regret or did wrong. Often it is about photography, and they did not invest in a wedding photographer but hired a friend, some amateur, or a regular photographer. That usually results in moments of the wedding day not being captured, in blurry images or in heavily edited pictures with tones of filters on to make them “better”. But mostly, I hear about bad posing, not being able to make the couple, their friends or family relaxed, or missing to take pictures of the family at all. So take a moment and think, together. What is important to you, really?

What’s the difference between

a photographer and a wedding Photographer?

There are many good cameras out there today, even in phones! But a phone picture or a picture from a simple DSLR has a much lower resolution and lower quality than an image from a professional camera. That means the pictures will be grainier, less sharp, and much smaller if taken with a phone, Ipad, or regular DSLR. A professional photographer brings at least one backup camera and backup gear to your wedding because accidents happen and there is no chance for a repeat during a wedding. But wedding photography is about so much more than gear. A wedding is an event overflowing with emotions and with a strict schedule. A regular photographer, no matter the skill, is rarely used to working under such pressure. A wedding professional, however, is used to the stress, knows its gear and settings, and knows where to be and when. On a wedding day, you can’t say: Can you walk out once more? I wasn’t ready. No, experience is everything during a wedding.

A wedding photographer has the experience to read the day and to be exactly at the right spot at the right time, is immune to stress, and can take stunning photos in almost no time at all. We also know which pictures a couple actually wants, while amateurs often just photograph pretty things. We are also avid about making sure we know what’s important for you. Go and ask on Facebook, ask family and friends what they wished they had done differently. I have never heard or read someone say “I regret taking real images“ or “I regret getting so many photos“ but too often “We didn’t choose the right photographer“ or “We were disappointed in the images our friend took“. Photography and food are the things I have heard & read most complaints about. Be clear on what you want so your photographer can make sure to capture it!

So who am I?

As a wedding photographer, I need to be ready for anything!

• I’ve been to weddings with 500 guests and to weddings without any guests at all.

• I’ve photographed Bridezilla and can give you advice so you don’t transform into her.

• Once the father of the bride set the tablecloth on fire.

• Couples who won’t let go of each other’s hands, but also couples who fought right before and didn’t want to touch at all.

• Weddings on farms, boats, museums, bars, outdoors, and by far my favorite - in a greenhouse!

More than +100 times I have captured families gathering to celebrate the love and future of happy couples. It’s only during weddings, baptisms, and funerals we rally in so big and loving gatherings, and it’s usually only during weddings we hire a photographer. Since becoming a mother myself, I know how fragile life is and how fast time is flying by. I live with my family in the countryside, close to Visby on the isle of Gotland.

I have working part-time as a photographer & videographer since 2014 and full-time since 2018. My style is candid and photojournalistic but with an artistic flavor. I love framing and working with lights. I work with natural light when possible, but love flash work too. My goal is that you shouldn’t see if I used Flash or not. My goal as a wedding photographer is to deliver a wide range of images for you to use on Social Media, pictures that make stunning wall art, and photographs for albums you can show family and friends for the rest of your lives. About two-thirds of my weddings are in Gotland, the rest is all over Sweden and sometimes abroad. If you are getting married in Gotland, I’ve got tons of information for you, as a local!
